A portrait session in the Black Forrest - Germany

Growing up in Marxzell Germany was a little like spending the summers on your grandparents farm - year round. It's a tiny little town that sits in a valley in the northern part of the Black Forrest in Baden-Württemberg. I can say with confidence that this is where I developed my love for the outdoors, my imagination and photography.

When I visited the area again last fall to see family and do a little bit of cycling, Nicola approached me about photographing a few portraits of her and Ebby. I was a little bit hesitant at first as I had never been close to a horse or done any photography with animals in the past. The afternoon turned out to be pure joy.
